KEILANA: HAWAII'S NEXT BIG THING

Keilana is an award-winning musician, artist, and songwriter with over 10 years of experience in the music industry. Growing up in paradise really allowed her to flourish and nurture her passion for music, being constantly inspired by the beauty and aloha all around her. She's done everything-- from working as nightly gigging musician, to doing session work and bgvs for big stars, writing and producing songs for film/tv, live sound set up and production, to finally owning her artistry by writing, recording, and performing her own original work. Her mission is to share her music and story with the world, inspire the next generation of young voices, and to see just how far an island girl can go when she follows her dreams.

MORE ABOUT KEILANA

an island girl with a dream to see and share her music with the world

At the young age of 6, her parents discovered her special abilities and made it their mission to nurture her musical talent. A Kamehameha Schools graduate (2012), she seized as many music opportunities possible; becoming a winning song contest director, landing the lead role of Maria in the spring musical of West Side Story, and receiving scholarships to continue her studies at The University of Hawaii at Manoa to name a few. By 18, she realized she had perfect pitch allowing her to pick up tunes with ease. By 19, she was playing in Hawaii's most prominent hot spots every single night. By 24, she released. her first original Cotton Candy Feelings which was well-received not just by Hawaii, but overseas. Her song placed on curated playlists, and made it's way to charting on a New York R&B Soul Radio. From that point on, she realized that her career and passion was in music.

In 2020, her first debut album, I Am was named R&B Album of The Year and granted her the title as Most Promising Artist (Na Hoku Hanohano Awards 2021). Before releasing her own body of work, she's recorded and worked on projects for some of Hawaii's biggest stars such as Mike Love, Paula Fuga, Izik, and Deandre Brackensick.

In 2021, she went viral for singing at Liane V and Don Benjamin's star-studded wedding catapulting her to becoming Hawaii's most-sought after wedding musician. Since then, she's sang hundreds of beautiful couples down the aisle, entertained guests of varied special occasions, and has even hosted private, intimate concerts for couples celebrating milestones.

In 2022, her focus was to perform her debut album to actual live audiences (releasing an album during a global pandemic, had its benefits and challenges). She took a break from gigging nightly to produce mid-sized headlining shows and experiences for her loving fans. In April of 2022, she performed at renowned showroom Bluenote Waikiki for the first time as a headliner, selling out two shows. Later that year, she opened for Anuhea at The Republik. Then, in September, after entering a nation-wide IG contest to sing with Soul/R&B Singer Allen Stone, she got to open AND sing his hit song "Consider Me" with him to sold out crowds. She wrapped an amazing year by going on her first west-coast tour as an opener and direct support for Anhuea's ALL IS BRIGHT 2022 Tour.

In 2023, some of her plans include releasing much anticipated new music, playing more headlining shows and festivals, touring and supporting more artists, and sharing more of Hawaii with the continental US and world by traveling abroad and living part-time overseas. Keilana's dream is to see the world through music and inspire others to share and create their own stories.
