BIO

KEILANA is an R&B/Soul musician from Honolulu, HI. Growing up in the islands, she developed a deep connection and gratitude towards her Hawaiian, Pacific-Islander, and Asian roots. As she began pursuing music, nothing meant more than becoming a bridge between mainstream and local music.  Keilana aspires to be a catalyst for change and evolution in Hawaii's music industry, encouraging the creatives of today and generations to follow to dream big and realize that the sky's the limit.

Keilana attended Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, graduating in 2012 and continuing her education at The University of Hawaii at Manoa receiving her BA in Music in 2016. While simultaneously studying, she began her career as a local live-musician. She quickly drew attention in the scene, and in 2016 decided the smart move would be to continue her studies in Music Business by attending the MELE (Music Entertainment and Learning Experience) Program at Honolulu Community College. Her business catapulted her to becoming Hawaii's most-sought female soloist. She also began to work as a session musician and vocalist for a variety of noted local artists such as Mike LovePaula FugaIzikEvan KhayDeandre Brakensick, and more.

While attending business school, she was introduced to the realm of sync music where she grew a knack for songwriting. In 2017, she was selected as a finalist for the Creative Lab Hawaii: Creative Lab Music Immersive Program representing Hawaii at large for festivals and events in Los Angeles, New York, and Japan. The Creative Lab Immersive introduced her to co-writing, where she began to collaborate with local musicians and notable songwriters such as Kenny Loggins (Dannys SongFootlooseHouse At Pooh Corner) and many others. Another avenue of success, she continues to place her collaborative works on major television shows such as Nashville (CMT)Ex On The Beach (MTV)Love & Hip-Hop (VH1). Her most recent sync was a major placement in OnePlus newest release, the OnePlus Nord.

Keilana released her first full-length project I AM, as a ZEO Music artist under the direction and in collaboration with highly acclaimed musician and producer, Imua Garza on October 20, 2020. The album is a beautifully raw anthology of original songs that explore the struggle, discovery, loss, and excitement of pursuing one's dream as an artist. The album skyrocketed to No. 2 on the iTunes R&B Charts in the first week of its release.

Her latest endeavors have been navigating through 2020 as a musician while raising community awareness about banding together with local businesses to assist Hawaii's struggling economy during the global pandemic. She utilizes her musical abilities to inspire a genuine connection with her audience, colleagues, and aspiring artists alike. In 2020, she hosted educational music-live streams, showcasing her extensive knowledge, and even used this new platform to raise funds for her community. She collectively raised over $5,000, donating funds to various businesses, causes, and families in need. This, in turn, doubled her social media following, and she now uses her social influencer presence to spread awareness on supporting small businesses and the power of collaboration and music education.

Keilana's biggest dreams are just within reach. Expect to hear Keilana's music and see her performing on stages throughout the globe. But for now, you can still catch her and listen live at some of Hawaii's most notable music venues, such as Moani Island Bistro, Doraku Waikiki, and more. Keilana will be hosting a local tour of "I Am" by the Summer of 2021.
