Aloha! My name is Keilana.

Aloha! If you are reading this that means that you've scanned the QR code at one of my performances in New York. I recently moved from Honolulu, HI to Brooklyn to pursue my music and chase my dreams. I moved in October of 2023, so do the math on how long it's been since then. Back home in Hawaii, I made a name for myself and was living comfortably as a live performing R&B artist in Waikiki and throughout Honolulu. But, deep down a part of me felt like I was meant to do more. I've wanted to see the world and what life is like outside of my island home. But for 28 years, I never left. I also felt like guilty claiming the title of Hawaii's R&B artist without actually going to where the heart of this genre lives and breathes. I am here because I want to learn more about soul and urban music and the people that make the identity of this place. So far, I've been learning there are so many cultures and people, some I've never ever met or seen my whole life. But I am so grateful to meet and learn about you. I've never lived anywhere else but Hawaii, so this has been the biggest adjustment of my life. Leaving comfort is never easy, but there is something admirable about believing in something so strongly that you're willing to risk jumping into the unknown. I have been searching for a place to call home and perform and if you scanned this, then that means I've found one. Wherever you are reading this, please do a me a favor, by thanking the establishment for me. It's been a rough being 4,000 miles away from home and away from family, but I am learning that there are many here who are always in pursuit of a better life too.
